Our Philosophy...
- To provide a Christian atmosphere where our children can grow and develop at their own level of maturity and ability.
- To provide an atmosphere where the parent can continue to learn and grow by working with their own and others' children in the classroom.
- To lay a sound foundation for social & spiritual growth.
- To foster the development of motor, intellectual, emotional, & social skills, each skill being equally important.
- To foster the development of these skills with a "learning through play and experience" approach.
TPPK offers the opportunity for families to be involved in their child's preschool experience. As a school parent, your responsibilities include:
- assisting in the classroom on a rotating basis (exception Kindergarten)
- providing a nutritious snack on assisting days and,
- driving on a minimum of one-two field trip(s) per semester.
Administration...
"TPPK is a ministry of Triangle Presbyterian Church. Through this ministry, we hope to provide support for our congregation as well as the surrounding community by promoting the spiritual, physical, social, and intellectual growth of its children and their families."
Oversight of TPPK:
- Triangle Presbyterian Church Session The ultimate oversight of the school lies with the Session of TPC.
- Triangle Presbyterian Preschool & Kindergarten (TPPK) Board The TPPK Board, which consists of: a Chair, the Director, the Director of Christian Education of TPC, the Lead Teacher of TPPK, church members, and parents, makes policy decisions about the school. The TPPK Board meets regularly year-round.
- The Director is on-site Monday through Thursday.
- Lead and Staff Teachers The teachers are hired by the school and the church to be responsible for the educational development and well-being of the children. The adjustment and development of a child are matters of private concern between the child's parents, the child's teacher and the lead teacher. Staff teachers are responsible to and work in conjunction with the lead teacher and the Director.
About our Classrooms...
Class Size
- Kindergarten - 15 children
- 3 year old and 4 year old- 10-14 children
- 2 1/2 year old - 10 children
- Child/Adult Ratio
There is a professional teacher and one assisting parent in the classroom every day. The Kindergarten class has a teacher and an assistant.
This provides ratios of:
- one adult for a maximum of every 7.5 children in the Kindergarten program.
- one adult for a maximum of every five-seven children in our 3 year and Pre-K programs.
- one adult for a maximum of every five children in our two-day 2 1/2 year program.
Our assisting experience: “A total Blast. The class is so well organized, the kids just loved the projects and subjects selected.”
