Kindergarten

  • TPPK has a 1/2 day Kindergarten that meets Monday-Thursday from 9:15-1:15.
  • The class has a certified teacher and an assistant.
  • The maximum number of students is 15 children.
  • The Kindergarten class has
    • Music
    • Weekly Chapel
    • Durham Library Bookmobile
    • Recess
    • Lunch (brought by the child) each day
    • 'In house" and "out of house" field trips
    • Centers in classroom
    • Level reading groups
    • Handwriting Without Tears Program

4-day morning programs

  • Two Pre-K classes for 4-year-olds meeting on Monday through Thursday
    • Children must be 4 by 8/31.
  • One class for Kindergarten meeting on Monday through Thursday
    • Children must be 5 by 8/31

3-day morning program

  • Two classes for 3-year-olds meeting on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
    • Children must be 3 by 8/31

2-day morning programs

  • One class for 2 1/2 year-olds meeting on Monday and Wednesday
    • Children must be 2 by 3/1
  • One class for 3-year-olds meeting Tuesday and Thursday
    • Children must be 3 by 8/31

Schedule of Operation

2 1/2-year-olds: 9:15 -12:00
3 and 4-year-olds: 9:15 - 12:15
Kindergarten: 9:15 - 1:15
September-Mid May

The TPPK vacation schedule is planned yearly with consideration given to the Durham Public School System's Traditional Calendar.
