Nicolette Granata
Director of TPPK graduated from Eureka College in 1982 with a BA in Elementary Education. After teaching K-3 in the Chicago suburbs for 4 years, she
and her husband moved to Durham in 1986. She was a stay at home Mom until her boys were in grade school and then worked for DPS as a substitute at her
boys' school. She started at TPPK 15 years ago as a teacher of the 2 year class and then became the Director the following year. Both of her sons attended TPPK;
one is a graduate of UNC-Charlotte, working and living in Davidson, NC with his new wife and the other is attending UNC-Charlotte and will be graduating in May.
Nicolette and her husband are members of Triangle Presbyterian Church where she is very involved in the Congregational Care Committee. Nicolette and her husband
enjoy time together visiting their sons, working in their yard, and having friends over for dinner and fellwoship.
Julie Anderson
Julie has been involved with TPPK since the fall of 1997 beginning as a parent, then a substitute teacher, and now a teacher; she has been the Fish teacher
since the fall of 2004. Both of her children are graduates of TPPK. Julie's love for working with children began as a gymnastics coach many years ago. She and her
family enjoy spending time together traveling, supporting each other's sporting events, and boating. Juile is a member of Triangle Presbyterian Church.
Janice Ascher
Janice, one of the Kindergarten teacher assistants, started at TPPK in 2006. She and her husband have four children the youngest three are graduates of TPPK.
She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a BA in Biology and also has a degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology. She worked with medical and
pharmaceutical research instrumentation prior to being home with the last three children.
Tara Carew
Tara Carew has served as an assistant in the PreK classrooms and is now teaching one of the 3-day 3 year old classes. Tara graduated from the State University
of NY at Cortland in 1993 with a BA in Liberal Arts English. In 1999, she graduated from the City of New York at Hunter College with a Masters in Education. She worked
for two years as a Middle School Language Arts Teacher in New York City before the birth of her two girls. Both of her girls have attended and graduated from TPPK,
she joined the staff in 2007. She is a member of Holy Infant Church and enjoyings reading, gardening, cycling, card making, travelling, and spending time with family
and friends.
Jackie MacDougall
Jackie attended Drake University and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in early childhood education. She taught in the Chicago
Public Schools as a Kindergarten teacher for five years before moving to Durham, NC in 2000 with her family. After being a stay at home mom for a few years, Jackie began
teaching at TPPK in 2005. All of Jackie's children have attended or graduated from TPPK.
Jane Mitchell
Jane Mitchell joined the staff in 2008 as administrative assistant. In addition to her role as administrative assistant, she updates and maintains the TPPK website
and manages the student accounts. Jane graduated from UNC-CH with a degree in Sociology. She and her husband have two daughters. Jane has been part of TPPK since 1997
when her girls attended TPPK. She has served on the TPPK Board for the past seven years. Jane enjoys being actively invovled
in her daughters' schools and their family enjoys spending their time swimming, camping, boating, and waterskiing.
Linda Routh
Linda has been teaching at TPPK since 1997. Prior to that, she had been active at her daughters schools as a substitute teacher, math program coordinator and science
classroom volunteer. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a BS in Education. She and her husband Kevin have two daughters, both in college. She enjoys
reading, hiking, camping and heading to the mountains with her family.
Alana Scott
Alana, TPPK kindergarten teacher, graduated from Bridgewater College with a BS degree in Middle School Education. She taught seventh grade Language Arts for
nine years in Stafford County, VA, as well as coaching girls' field hockey and track. Alana and her husband, Bill, have two children-Colleen and David.
After the birth of her daughter, Alana retired from teaching to be a stay-at-home mom. In 1999, Alana and her family moved to Durham. Both of Alana's children
attended TPPK and their positive experiences at the preschool helped Alana decide to join the TPPK staff in 2003. Alana loves to read, bake, garden, and spend time
with her family.
Pamela Spring
Pam teaches two classes at TPPK; the 2-day 2 1/2-year-old class, and the 2-day 3-year-old-class. She first came to TPPK as a parent in the fall of 2003 and joined
our staff in 2005.Originally from Texas, she moved with her family to North Carolina in the summer of 2003. She and her husband have 4 children, the two youngest are
graduates from TPPK. Pam has an Associates Degree from a Christian University in Texas. She has been involved with, and leading youth and children's ministries since 1994.
Pam enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, boating, reading, listening to music and decorating her home.
Julie Walston
Julie Walston, one of the Kindergarten teacher assistants, graduated from NCSU in 1993 with a BA in Middle Grades Education. Julie taught 6th grade in Orange County
Schools for 7 years. After staying home with her two children, Julie began working as an assistant in the kindergarten class in 2003.
